Virgil S. Penermon, was born into the union of Joseph and Mabel (Clark) Penermon, the 13th child of 16 in the year 1957, in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. Virgil passed this life on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at his home.

The Penermon family moved to Decatur, Illinois when Virgil was 6 years of age. He relocated to Arlington, Texas in 1996. where he lived until his passing.

Virgil confessed his belief in God at the age of 9. He was an avid reader of the Bible and other spiritual material, and his level of understanding and ability to convey his thoughts and convictions were truly extraordinary.  He always found time and an audience to share in extolling God's eternal love. This he did in eloquent oration as well as on his beloved guitar.

Virgil enjoyed being employed as a truck driver, driving for multiple companies in the Dallas Metroplex area for several years. He later earned his welding certificate from Mountain View College and was employed as a welder (his dream job) upon his death. Virgil's quick wit and easy smile was only surpassed by his sharper dress.

His memory now comforts the hearts of his brothers: Raymond and Chester of Decatur, Illinois, Jethro of Dallas, Texas, Ezra (Gabrielle) of Richardson, Texas;   sisters: Evelyn (Harrington) Shaw of Decatur  Illinois, Ruth Nicholson and Rachel Penermon of Arlington, Texas, Marilyn (Michael) Garrett of Decatur Illinois; thirty-two nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Virgil was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Lynn; Father and Mother; Brothers: Melvin, Joseph and John, and Joseph D.; sisters: Maurice, Mary, and Gwendolyn.
