As a deacon, he cooperates with elders in promoting the growth and welfare of the church; assists in the greeting and meeting of worshippers; prepares and distributes the Lord’s Supper; blesses and is presented offerings; assist in financial canvasses; ministers to families in times of sickness and bereavement; prepares candidates for baptism, as well as such other duties as may be assigned. |
